Updates on M and Jess

I know I've already posted once today (my Christmas update), but after hearing some news this afternoon I felt I needed to make another post.

Firstly I heard that M, the little girl I know who is in hospital with rejection, is currently very ill. After I last heard from her mum her indications of rejection increased, so the last anti-rejection drug she took (the last one left for them to try) was restarted. She had problems with fluid retention again and last night she began having fits. She had to be ventilated and sedated and is now in Intensive Care. A scan has showed swelling on her brain, but it's not yet known why. I'm very worried about her.

And then I heard an update on Jess. I've mentioned Jess in previous blogs before. Save Jess-tival was set up in her name because 20 year old Jess has been waiting for a lung transplant for 4 years. She's been in and out of hospital a lot recently and spent Christmas day there. I don't know much detail, but today she took a turn for the worse. I'm not close enough to her to contact her at the moment, but mutual friends are keeping me updated. Jess will die unless she receives a double lung transplant very very very soon.
