18 months

Today marks 18 months since both my stoma reversal and me developing ME. It seems like I've been without a stoma for much more than 18 months, but it seems like I've not had ME that long. Weird. Mum was surprised it is just a year and a half since I developed ME though, she thought it was 2 and a half years, but she does have dyscalculia - number dyslexia. Getting my stoma reversed was such a great moment for me and something I'd been looking forward to since I discovered that I would need one temporarily at the first meeting at Hosp B before my transplant. But obviously I didn't realise at the time that that operation would somehow lead to me developing ME.

  1. I cant believe its 18 months since you had M.E! I really hope that you soon learn to live with it better and it improves.

  2. I know having ME is really restricting your life at the moment but one thing that you have in your favour is that it was diagnosed relatively early and it is being taken seriously. For me, it took many years to diagnose correctly and I did a lot of damage to myself but trying to carry on working, pushing myself etc.

One bit of advice would be to listen to your body and rest when you need to but also to try and do a tiny bit of physical activity a day like walking to the shop just to keep your joints and stuff going.

Hope this helps - if you need any other advice on ideas for sleep etc. then you know where I am.
