Jess

Today I'm thinking of Jessica Wales. Jess is 20 and waiting for a double lung transplant. I've never met her, but have heard a lot about her from my friends in the transplant community. Jess has been waiting more than 4 years for a transplant and during that time she has received 7 false alarms where the transplant couldn't go ahead for one reason or another. Jess has a lung capacity of just 11% (she can only breathe in the amount of air that is in a coke can) and is currently in hospital fighting for every breath. Without a transplant Jess will die.

If you saw Holly's Battlefront documentary earlier this year you may remember seeing her with Jessica Wales. This was Jess (with Emily) 2 weeks ago fundraising for Live Life Then Give Life:

Luckily my transplant came in time, but every day 3 people die in the UK because their time runs out before they receive a transplant. Please don't let Jess become another statistic - she's only 20 and has her whole life ahead of her.     Darling you are amazing and I am sure that Jess will be chuffed that you're spreading the word!! How are you? Hope you had a fab weekend and that things are going well? I met a photographer called Imogen Freeland. I must message you about her. She is amazing and I think you both have the same condition, ME. Have u been watching x-factor or strictly? xxx

    Full update coming on me soon I promise. Just thought Jess' story was more important at the moment. I'm good thanks and have been watching X Factor, don't like the new audition format much though. Looking forward to hearing more about Imogen.
